Slit-edge ribbon is one type main ribbon, it is beginging of pieces of fabric, fabric fed into a slitting machine,which slit the fabric into
different width of " ribbon", usally the slitting knives are heated so tha edge of ribbon are melted just enough to prevent fraying.
There is also an altrasonic slitting machine,which actually cuts and fuses the edge using sound waves.some people call these types of ribbons "fused-edge ribbons".
